Successful evaluation of AESKU´s new fast and reliable determination of Borrelia specific-antibodies.

AESKU.DIAGNOSTIC´s newly developed kinetic Borrelia assays prove to be very fast and easy to handle diagnostic tools suitable for routine use and alternative applications like the measurement of cerebrospinal fluid/serum sample pairs.

zecke1AESKU.DIAGNOSTICS has developed two new commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) for the detection of borrelia-specific antibodies on the basis of a fast kinetic reaction.

Lyme disease is the most common infectious disease in the northern hemisphere transmitted by ticks. According to the recommendation of the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM) the laboratory diagnosis of Lyme borreliosis is based on the detection of antibodies directed against Borrelia using ELISA based screening techniques and additional immunoblotting techniques. It is generally agreed that the first diagnostic assessment should be the ELISA test and that a positive or doubtful ELISA result has to be confirmed by an additional test.

7upThe new version of the ELISA based Borrelia test was developed to be performed on the AESKU.SEVEN-UP ELISA processor system with the advantage of very short incubation times (7, 7, 7 minutes).

Now a recent evaluation proved that those new kinetic tests performed on AESKU.SEVEN-UP  are highly suited for the demands of a fast and reliable detection of early infections next to persistent infections, patients suffering from neuroborreliosis and arthritis samples.

The comparison of the new kinetic tests to different commercial available ELISA tests showed a very good correlation. The assays are accurate and precise and suitable for measurements of low sample volumes.
